I have an important announcement to make:
"The Cat's Cradle" is moving!
(Which is oddly appropriate, considering how many people, including myself, are changing domiciles this month.) No, "The Cat's Cradle" isn't being discontinued or vanishing from the internet, but I am changing blog hosting platforms. Right now I'm using Blogger, and it has served me well as I started to establish myself on the internet. There are many things that I like about Blogger. It's fairly simple to use for beginners and cheap. (Free, if you don't mind having ".blogspot.com" tacked onto the end of your site name.)
But now I like WordPress better. I have my own domain name, a higher level of control and customization, the user interface for creating and updating bog entries is easier for me to use, the websites on WordPress just look more professional.
And professional is what I'm going for. I don't have the money or the HTML/CSS know-how to create and maintain my own website. I've been using "The Cat's Cradle" as my kind of publicity spring-board for my writing when I'm eventually published. And WordPress offers that. I've spent a lot of time looking at other writer websites and blogs to find what I'm looking for, and most of them are hosted by WordPress.
The only major downside is that I have no real way to back-link all of the entries that I've already written to my new site. All of the links I've spread around the internet via my other websites like DeviantART and Twitter won't lead to the new "Cat's Cradle." I have imported all of the old entries over to WordPress and made sure that they work and are all formatted nicely. Over the next few days, I will start taking down the entries on the Blogger Cat's Cradle and putting in links to the new entries. All the links I previously spread will still come to Blogger, and you'll just have to click once more link to reach the new entries. Any entries I create after today will be WordPress-only with the appropriate links posted.
I do hope that all of my readers will follow me through this transition. Hopefully you've enjoyed my writing enough to come along for the ride and bookmark a new page. Thank you very much for your support and understanding!
